Mirror, mirror … who’s the fairest of them all?

I still cringe when I hear that line. A fairy tale that had girls pretending they were the fairest, the most beautiful, and the most entitled. A fairy tale most couldn’t grow out of turned my haunted childhood memories into a living nightmare. Girls who grew up believing that pile of garbage became the meanest of all ‘mean girls.’

And those mean girls were right – it was a line meant for all the beautiful people in the world – and I knew the answer would never be me.

The women with long legs, flat stomachs, and perfect chests.

The type of women Kane Masters gravitated toward.

Well, that’s definitely not Willow Tate.

No. That will never be me.

Because I’m completely imperfect.

And … I hate myself.

I have no idea what Kane could possibly see in someone like me when he could have them.

22891442Title: BI-Satisfied
Author: Nikki-Michelle
Genre: Urban Erotica
Rating:2K1CH

**Disclaimer:  A copy of this book was provided to me by the author in exchange for an honest review.

Summer Kennedy is a power player in Atlanta, GA. She has been on a journey of self-discovery since she was old enough to remember. From love to the identity of her real parents to her openly brazen sexuality, she has always felt something was missing. Working side by side with powerhouse lawyer and best friend David Hall, an openly bi-sexual black male, Summer feels a spark with David that dares to challenge the laws of attraction. Can Summer lose herself in David’s erotic call?

When Michael, David's friend and ex-lover, comes into town, the game of cat and mouse between two friends changes everything for Summer. Michael is aware of her sexual desires, and he uses her in his plot against the man who did something so unforgivable that ten years later, Michael is still looking to make him pay.

In order to understand the method to Michael’s madness, you’ll have to take a walk on the wild side. Take a journey of learning to accept what society deems as unacceptable. Find out what happens when you mix sex, half-truths, and hidden agendas with burning lust and sexual curiosity.

Could you date a man that was 100% about his sexuality? What about a man that's so sure about his sexuality that he has been with men and women? Would you still date that man? This are the questions plus more that Summer has to ask herself. This chick is pretty much in LOVE with her best friend, David, but can't get over the fact that he is bisexual. He has never hidden this from her and he is as clean as a baby's butt. Put yourself in Summer's shoes....are you secure enough with yourself to be with a man that will look at another man the same way you do?

David is this down for whatever cool arse dude. He is smart, sexy, and confident. Heck, he is the complete package. The only thing holding David back from what he wants is Summer. David has been waiting for Summer to tell him one simple word....yes. Until that time, he tries his best to only be that friend she needs while she sleeps with married men. That grinds his gears like nobody's business. But when a blast from David's past show his face, all bets are down and nobody will hold back.

Summer and David have hit a point in their friendship where Summer has to decide if she wants to be with David or stay strictly friends. These two have never has been strictly friends. I don't have a male friend that I feel comfortable kissing on the lips or even sitting on his lap. NO MA'AM! But these two send each other mixed signals all the time. So when David's old friend Michael comes into town everything gets even more confusing.

Michael has an ulterior motive of why he now all of a sudden wants to meet with David. You see, David and Michael at one time were friends with benefits. They would have fun together and something include others. Things went south with them when Michael fell in love with his now wife. David did not take that well and banged said wife....I know, pick your mouth up off the floor. So, to say these two have stuff to clear up is an understatement. Now, Michael shows up in town to have a much needed talk with David but ends up wanting to bang him and add a little Summer in the mix. Michael already has a feeling that Summer is attracted to him but making his move is the trick. Things get HEATED when Michael makes his move but David is finally the one to make Summer say YES!!!!!

Sweet baby Jaysus Bi-Satisfied was all kinds of AWESOME!!!!!!! This is one of those books that people will turn their nose up at because they are not secure with themselves. I don't have that problem. LOL Anywho, the chemistry that David and Summer have is hot. Then adding Michael to the mix and you have a fire waiting to happen. One of the good things I enjoyed about Bi-Satisfied is even when Michael and David got to enjoy one another it was not overly detailed. Like we didn't get the step by step manual on how to insert penis in anus. Too much information? My bad. Here are a list of items you will NEED while reading this book:

1. Panty Liners
2. A few bottles of wine
3. A man or B.O.B on standby
4. 24-hrs of silence

Now when you are prepared, get comfortable because you will not put the book down until the last page. Heck, even at the last page you will want to keep flipping because the ending is a complete WTF ARE YOU SERIOUS type moment. In fact, have a bottle of wine reserved for the end of the book.

Overall, Bi-Satisfied is INSANELY SWELTERING!!! Like I need this book in audiobook format with a man reading that has a really deep voice. Goodness, I just had a hot-flash thinking about it. Happy reading.

Welcome to the Spotlight stop for Catriona's Curse!!

Let's learn about A.T. Weaver:

A. T. Weaver is the pen name of a divorced grandmother of eleven, great-grandmother of one. She lives with her cat, Cleopatra, in downtown Kansas City, MO.

When she was growing up, the word gay meant happy and carefree and homosexuals were called queer or ‘one-of-those’. However, she never heard those terms until she was married and a mother. When two men moved in down the street from their mobile home, her husband had to explain they were queer. As far as she was concerned, they were just a couple of men sharing a trailer.

In 2003, through a TV show called Boy Meets Boy, A.T ‘met’ over 3,000 gay men in a Yahoo group. These men educated her as to the inequalities suffered by the LGBT community and she became a staunch ally. She visited one of the men in San Francisco who lived just up the street from the Castro. As he showed her around, they stopped in front of what was once Harvey Milk’s camera store. Her question, “Who was Harvey Milk?” started her education into Gay history.

A. T.’s aim is to move you in some way. Whether you laugh or cry, love it or hate it, she welcomes all comments, whether good or bad.

SUNNY

“Granddad, what have you gotten me into now?” I thought as I drove down the gravel driveway lined with majestic oak and walnut trees toward the one-hundred-fifty-year-old, three-story rock mansion.
My name is Sunshine Nelson, thanks to my hippie parents. Actually my first name is Matthew but, since my dad was Matt, I’ve always been called Sunny. I’m almost thirty-five years old and live in Los Angeles, California. My parents have known for nearly twenty years I’m gay. They aren’t really happy with the fact, but have accepted it.
My father’s father died and left me this house my fourth-great grandfather built just prior to the Civil War. My parents insisted I take a few days off work, fly to Missouri and check out the place. In Mom’s words, “Getting away from California and Dan will help you get over him.” After three months, I thought I was over Dan, but seeing him at Dino’s Restaurant last week with his little bear cub hurt more than it should have. After all, you don’t get over eight years of loving someone overnight.
The sticky humid eighty-five degrees made my mood somewhat touchy. I spent last night in Kansas City with my old college roommate, Jack, and his partner, Bret. When Bret suggested he tag along to keep me company, I had no idea what was in store for me. We hadn’t gone twenty miles before I regretted bringing him along. Over the last two hours I’d endured his unending flirty innuendoes and stories about the sex parties he and Jack throw. I’m not one to indulge in sex just for the sake of sex. I believe in monogamous relationships. I know they’re possible. I have friends who’ve been together over forty years.
Driving toward the house, I noticed newly-broken limbs on a few of the trees, but most of them seemed to be healthy and well trimmed. The yard looked as though it could stand to be mowed, but it wasn’t what I’d call overgrown. I stopped the car about fifty yards from the house and studied it. The house stood just off Rocheport Road about five miles outside of Boonville. Made of native stone, it sat in the middle of an expansive lawn. The long drive formed a semi-circle in front of the house.
A wide flat-roofed veranda held up by huge pillars fronted the house and continued around both sides reminiscent of the southern mansions I’d seen in movies. Except for a few missing shingles on the roof and peeling paint on the wooden veranda, it appeared to be in good repair. A sense of calmness settled over me. I felt like I’d come home from a long trip.
Bret’s voice interrupted my thoughts, “That looks more like a hotel than a private residence; it’s huge.”
His words ignited the glimmer of an idea into my head. I put the car into gear and drove the rest of the way down the drive.
As we got out of the car, Bret asked, “Sunny, do you see a shadow in the window to the right of the door? Your grandma didn’t say anything about the place being haunted, did she?”
I removed my sunglasses and looked up. A female-shaped shadow quickly disappeared. “Not to me. But then, she’s never been here. The only member of the family who ever saw the place was Granddad the year he inherited it from a distant cousin. None of us has been back since and no one has lived in it for twenty years. I’m going to look inside. Watch the steps, they might be rotten.”
Bret fanned himself with his scarf. “I think I’ll wait in the car with the air conditioning on if you don’t mind.”
“Be my guest,” I sighed. “If you weren’t wearing that scarf, you wouldn’t be so hot.”
“You’re just like Jack,” Bret whined. “You don’t know anything about fashion.”
“I prefer comfort to fashion.” I retrieved my camera from the car and took several shots of the grounds before entering the house.
* * *
JEFF

My sister and I were in what everyone called the haunted bedroom when we heard the car pull up. April ran to the window and looked down. “Wow. Dibs on the blond; he’s beautiful.”
I walked up behind her and took a look for myself. The tall blond removed his sunglasses and I felt a déjà vu like stirring deep inside. I knew I’d never seen him before. I’d have remembered. He looked to be a little over six feet tall, athletically built and close to my age. A pair of light blue trousers hung loosely around his legs and a short-sleeved, cream-colored pullover almost the same color of his hair accented his taut abs. Just then a ray of sunlight hit his hair and it shone like silver.
On the other hand, the man who got out of the passenger side was several inches under six feet and stocky with dark hair. His outfit marked him as obviously gay. He wore grey trousers and a coral long-sleeved, button-down shirt. A grey scarf the same shade as his trousers wound around his neck.
“Sorry, sister dear, but judging from his companion you aren’t his type,” I said.
Her voice registered disappointment, “And I suppose you are?”
“More so than you. It seems a shame if he’s taken.”
“I don’t know. They don’t look very well matched if you ask me.” She shrugged, “But there’s no accounting for taste.”
April left the room and I followed.

Can she find a killer in a town where the basest desires are allowed to run free?

There are zombies in the Dead Zone and Juliana Norris is sent to take care of the problem. And for there to be zombies, there had to be bodies. When vampires are found to be the culprits, Juliana is sent undercover in the red light district of Kansas City. Lying to her mate, Thomas Kendrick, isn’t something she wants to do, but she’s in another vampire’s territory and Thomas would not be pleased. Besides, she’s more than capable of doing the job and she needs to prove it to everyone. Most of all herself.

Charles Morgan is in control of the Kansas City area, making a rich living off his various enterprises. Juliana goes undercover at the strip club Lust and gets sucked into his dark, decadent world. More victims turn up and the Agency is positive they’ve got their man, but Juliana is not so sure. When the Agency refuses to listen, she reluctantly turns to Thomas for help. He intervenes but finds Juliana unaware of the danger she is in and discovers she may just be too deep for him to save.

What is there to say about Blood Slave other then IT WAS AWESOME!! I love the chemistry between Juliana and Thomas. Thomas absolutely loves this woman and would do anything for her but Juliana is still somewhat trying to find her way. You would think a near death experience and losing a best friend would make a person grab hold to the ones they love. But no, Juliana is still fighting with the guilt of her partner being the bad guy that caused all the hurt in her world and truly trusting Thomas. Thomas still has the caveman type thinking at times but he is trying to take that step back that he knows Juliana needs. Unfortunately, Juliana put's herself in yet another situation that Thomas has to try and get her out of....at the last minute.

Juliana and her partner Nathaniel are having a zombie issue in the Dead Zone and this leads them into going undercover in another master vampire's territory, Charles Morgan. Now the problem with this is how Juliana gets around Thomas to do this job. Let see, did you guess that she lied about what she was doing? Ding ding ding you are right. Yep, Juliana did not learn her lesson and is walking into a situation without a pot to pee in. Well when the ship high, shit, it's the fan she goes running to Thomas for help. Thomas has been in the background stressing the freak out trying to find out what Juliana is up to but gives her the independence she wants to complete her job. It's just hard for him because he wants his mate to feel comfortable about coming to him for everything. I was very happy about the help that Thomas pulled in, the Wardens. I love Clayton and the crew. Well things get ugly quick when Juliana finally tells Thomas that she is working in Charles Morgan's territory and why she is there undercover. Let me tell you, the title of this book, Blood Slave, explains actually what's going on plus more in Morgan's territory.

Have you obtained Blood Slave yet? What's taking you so long! This book was a great continuation to the Realm Walker Series. To see Juliana continue to grow, is great. You can tell that with each near death experience, Juliana is opening her eyes to what she sometime takes for granted. I can't want to see more Thomas, Juliana, Nathaniel, and the Wardens. Blood Slaves is insanely sultry. Just prepare for a sleepless night because once you pick this book up, you won't put it down until the last page.

Check out this AWESOME excerpt:

The zombie Pomeranian yipped at Nathaniel in between growling and tugging at the leg of his jeans. Juliana pulled her foot back to kick the creature away from her friend and made ready to bring her sword down on it as soon as it was clear.

“Don’t,” Nathaniel protested as he held up a still-clawed hand. “You might hurt it.”

Her brows arched up into her hairline. “That would be the general idea.” The thing growled again and she looked down at it where it was doing its utmost to gnaw a hole through Nathaniel’s jeans. And she wasn’t entirely sure it would stop when it got to skin. I realize you have a particu-lar kinship with all things canine, but it’s gnawing on your leg.”

“Just my jeans.” Now back in fully human form, he bent and disengaged the dog from the denim.

“Easy there, boy. Good dog.” When the Pomeranian continued to express its displeasure with the situation in general and Nathaniel in particular, he lifted the beast above his head, looked at it nose to nose and growled back. Evidently recognizing an alpha even in its altered state, the dog curled in on itself and whimpered before darting its tongue out to lick Nathaniel’s nose. Juliana grimaced. Zombie breath couldn’t be pretty.

“See, he doesn’t mean any harm,” her friend said as he tucked the abomination under one arm. Their scruffy brown hair made them look surprisingly similar.
She blinked at him in disbelief before taking another look at the creature in question. When she bent closer, it growled and she straightened with a huff. “She.”

“What?”

“She. Name tag says Fifi. Last time I checked that was a girl’s name.”

Nathaniel snorted in derision. “Fifi. What a prissy name.”

“Hate to break it to you, partner, but that is a prissy dog. And it smells like mold.”
